About Us

A natural wine boutique selling experiences in bottles. With Slovenia’s winemakers being at the forefront of natural wine innovation in Europe, we offer a wide variety from indigenous grapes to classic wines reimagined. We sell what we drink, and we guarantee: that none of our wines will ever bore you.

We all still remember our first glass of natural, amber, orange or however you want to call it, wine. An eye-opening experience, a WOW moment. The moment, when we all thought “This is how wine can be?”. And now we are here, to share that experience with you.

We are Alen, Karo, Ira and Rainer and we founded DrinkSloWine in 2021 out of a love for Slovenian natural wine. We are on a mission to share our love for these outstanding, exciting, handmade wines with Europe – so feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.

Located in a former bank office, we have over 80 wines from 16 wine makers on stock – and always some that we don’t sell online. So, it makes sense to come buy. You can also book tastings and spend a few hours with our sommelier Alen.

Come to the beautiful Soca Valley, enjoy the nature, the river, the mountains, the outstanding restaurants around – and don’t forget visiting us in Kobarid.

Alen is an amazing host and an expert in wine. It is more than a shop with a great selection of Slovenian natural wines. I'd recommend you go there for wine tasting late afternoon/early evening. And just try stuff before you buy. Well worth it! A super cool experience!

I have to say, my visit at Drink Slo Wine in Kobarid was a blast! The owner Alen seriously seriously knows his stuff when it comes to Slovenian natural wines. The selection of bottles they have is astonishing, and their hospitality genuine. Big thanks for the aperitivo before going out for late dinner. Only regret is we could leave with more bottles to stock up the cellar back home in Canada.Don’t hesitate, go and visit the shop, have a great time and leave with some beautiful wines!Cheers!

This store and the owner Alen are absolutely fantastic. If you are a wine drinker this is a spot you should not miss!! My husband and I were visiting Kobarid and we walked in looking for a bottle. He led us through extensive tastings and education about Slovenian natural wine and guided us to several bottles that were exceptional. He then took the time to recommend several places for dinner and told us to come back in the evening for an apertivo before going out to dinner. Throughout the weekend we were there we stopped by several times for glasses, for a chat and for learning more about Slovenia and natural wine. I can’t thank Alen enough for truly shaping our experience in KobaridHis wine knowledge is unparalleled, his selection is amazing and his hospitality and love of what he does is absolutely apparent.

Absolutely amazing place. The lovely owners are utterly prep about wines and the shop is full of different types of white/ orange/ rose and red wine. We most definitely will go back asap. Ps. During the wine tasting we end up getting drunk🙈😂Ramona, Italy

Discover wines from all major wine regions, while our Somm Alen gives you an introduction to Slovenian culture, geography – and its indigenous grapes. Take a trip around the country without leaving our store and get deep insights into the tradition of natural wine making in Slovenia.

We offer wine tastings starting with groups as small as 2 people. We have a choice of tasting concepts ready for you but are also happy to cater to your needs and develop a bespoke tasting for you.

If you let us know before, we can also have a salami or cheese platter ready for you to go with the tasting.
